If you’re wondering what the next-generation BMW M5 will look like – here is a little hint for you brought to you by the folks over at M5Board.com and TeamSpeed.com. To see the real 2012 BMW M5, you’ll have to wait for the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Previous reports have suggested that the 2012 model will drop the current 5.0L V10 in favor of a 4.8L twin-turbo V8 with output reaching close to 600-hp. It is expected to be mated to a new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Also new for the next-generation M5 will be BMW”s KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) technology taken from F1, complete with a boost function and fuel-saving technologies including cylinder cutoff.
